Spay & Neuter Assistance Program

We take spay/neuter seriously - so should you!

The decision to spay or neuter your pet  is an extremely important decision and  can be the single best decision you make for their long-term welfare. Sterilization is important when considering the lives of animals everywhere.

  • Reduce animal over-population and the  number of homeless pets, thereby reducing the number of animals euthanized.
  • Increase the longevity of your pet and decrease health risks associated with unaltered pets.
    • Desire to roam
    • Various types of cancers in both male and female pets
  • Curb bad behavior
    • Urine-marking/spraying
    • Aggressive behavior
    • Desire to roam
    • Excessive barking

We Can Help!

At Albany Humane Society, we offer SNAP for residents of Dougherty County. Our Spay and Neuter Assistance Program is funded by private donors and is designed to alleviate the financial burden associated with this surgery for those who may not be able to afford to spay or neuter their pets. Proof of residency and income is required. Contact us at 229.888.7387 to find out more about SNAP.

Our Commitment

Albany Humane Society is committed to reducing the number of animals euthanized in our community. We believe the best way to do this is through targeted Spay & Neuter initiatives aimed at sterilizing the "stray" animals in our community. We appreciate your support while we work towards this goal as it is extremely important for our community. Please help us by donating to the Sunshine Fund and our Spay and Neuter Assistance Program.
